![]() ![]() Participates in monthly fire procedure refresher trainings, ensuring that all Security Gallery Attendants and Security Supervisors staff are apprised of current procedures.Attends curatorial walkthroughs of exhibitions.Working closely with Registrars, Exhibitions Leadership, and the Director of Security and Maintenance, to take steps to reduce the risk of a loss or Damage to any Artwork in the Museum’s collection or on loan to the museum and the buildings.Acts on matters of employee conduct, including investigations and disciplinary issues has authority to impose disciplinary action up to and including termination.Conducts new hire trainings and orientations, including emergency procedures.Conduct daily briefings and weekly trainings with Visitor Experience manager or personnel, Director of Security & Maintenance, and others as needed.Approve weekly schedule, ensuring that gallery coverage by Security Attendants is complete during all public hours and special events.Manage All Security Personnel including Site Supervisors, Senior Supervisors and will produce and maintains weekly schedules for Gallery Security Attendants at both downtown MOCA locations.Manage a 24/7 Security Operation including Shift Supervisors, who are floor and Building Supervisors during public and after hours.Oversees all aspects of the recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, and ongoing management of approximately 45-50 Security Attendants. MOCA Security Responsibilities, Post Orders, Emergency and fire procedures, CPR and First Aid certification, and MOCA guest service procedures.Recruiting, hiring and training Security Supervisors and Gallery Security officers and ensuring that these new hires also complete training in California Security Guard Registration.Participating in MOCA guest service training.Becoming CPR and First Aid certified, if not already.Learning all MOCA emergency and fire procedures. ![]() Completing California Security Guard Registration training.Duties during the Start-up Phase include: The Security Coordinator shall staff museum galleries with pro-active, guest service oriented individuals charged with welcoming and engaging visitors in exhibitions, protecting artwork, and ensuring fire and life safety during public hours at both downtown MOCA locations. Working with the Director of Security & Maintenance, develop all protocols, procedures, and training manuals and methods for the new Security Personnel. Ongoing responsibilities shall be the organization, implementation, and oversight of all personnel and activities in MOCA’s Security Department, including: in-gallery visitor engagement, artwork protection, fire/life safety, and parcel check during all public hours and special events as scheduled. The Security Coordinator will develop, implement, manage, and oversee this inaugural Security Program for MOCA, which includes all aspects of hiring and staffing with incoming Security Attendants and Security Supervisors.ĭuring the start-up phase, the Security Coordinator will: 1) complete all required training in the areas of security, including MOCA-specific procedures in artwork protection and fire/life safety, as well as MOCA-specific procedures for guest service and visitor engagement 2) working with the Director of Security & Maintenance, hire all security staff (“Security Attendants”) and begin the process of recruiting, hiring, and training Security Attendants to cover the galleries in both of the museum’s downtown locations. The Security Coordinator will help to create an accessible and enjoyable experience in the MOCA galleries to assist visitors with a general understanding of the art while also focusing on protecting the art. ![]()
